CAROLYN R. CHRISTIANSEN

Carolyn has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia.

After finishing her degree at the University of Victoria, Carolyn completed her paralegal qualifications at Capilano College.  For the next three years, Carolyn worked as a corporate, commercial and securities law paralegal at a boutique firm in Vancouver.   Carolyn then applied to Law School at the University of British Columbia, and in her final year was awarded both the Rosina and Gabriel Iacobucci Prize in Family Law and the Campney & Murphey Prize in Securities Regulation.

Since being called the Bar in 2002, Carolyn has practiced exclusively in the area of family law.  Before relocating to Vernon in 2005 to join a local firm as an associate in the family law department, Carolyn practiced with a boutique family law firm in Vancouver. 

In April of 2012, Carolyn opened her own family law practice, FairView Family Law, where she has continued practicing all aspects of family law including divorce, parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, the division of family property and family debt, Separation Agreements, Pre-Nuptial and Cohabitation Agreements. 

Carolyn has completed the extensive training to become qualified as an accredited family law mediator, and is offering family law mediation services both in person and remotely. 

After moving to Vernon, Carolyn became involved in a number of community organizations.  Carolyn is a past director of the North Okanagan Community Life Society and the Vernon and District Performing Arts Society.  Carolyn also served as an Advisory Board member of the Compassionate Friends Society, and as a representative for Vernon on the North Okanagan CLBC Community Counsel. 

Carolyn is registered as a pro bono lawyer with the MS Society of Canada, and has provided pro bono legal services through the legal clinic at People Place.

When at home, Carolyn enjoys gardening, cooking, and the company and amusing antics of her adopted pets.
